Features & Documentaries

"The Spanish American War"
Historical re-enactment footage aboard the "Olympia", the preserved flagship of Admiral Dewey during the Battle of Santiago in 1898, was shot for a documentary that appears regularly on The History Channel. The Olympia's crew was made up of re-enactors who replicated the wardrobe and acted out the scenes of various documented sea battles.

"Directing and shooting historical re-enactments can be immensely complicated; you need to capture the mood that might have been present at a particular time in history, and still be able to keep the lighting and camera techniques contemporary so that today's audiences can relate to what they are seeing on the screen.

"To Escape My Fate"
Produced as a drama, this two man show, which was originally written as a stage play, depicts author Stephen Crane (The Red Badge Of Courage) dying of tuberculosis as he chronicles his life's adventures to a young reporter. Director Tom Musto saw the stage presentation and approached the writer to adapt it for television. The ten day shoot took place on location in a turn-of-the-century house that resembled a home from Crane's time period. After winning an award at the Suffolk Film Festival, the program was aired by PBS and remains in distribution.
